The latest update stalls on running, stopping at "Insure that you have access to directory C;\FYM\FYManager.pdb. I can't get but this error message.

Is C:\FYM where your FYM install lives? If not, does pointing the installer to the correct install directory solve this?
If that directory is the correct one, do you (and the installer) have permissions to modify C:\FYM\FYManager.pdb? Do you have an Antivirus program or similar that is likely to be restricting access or modifying file permissions?

My automatic installer is running into the same issue, but with D:\FYM\Sounds\detector\degrees.wav . The D: drive is where FYM lives and the installer is pointed to this directory. Installing it manually worked previously and continues to work as normal.

From a few other reports, it appears that this is due to file permissions issues - e.g. that FYM was installed by another user, or as an administrative user, or that Windows has since altered the file owner.
The auto-updater runs as the current user, but it appears that manually downloading the installer allows you to run it with higher permissions.

To those having trouble with the auto update, can you try right-clicking on FYM and 'Run as Administrator'?

Update: I have tried running as administrator, and the same issue still comes up.

If you go and view the file properties in Windows Explorer, does it look as if you (or at least the administrator account) have Write permissions?
One simple option is to simply delete the file (which may be an adventure in itself, if the permissions have got mixed up) - the sound files aren't vital to FYM functioning, and the installer will replace them anyway.

I'm having the same issues as jaxman136. I tried deleting the entire Sounds folder. That didn't help. I just ran it as Administrator. still not working. I'm getting the following message: error writing to file E:\FYM\MySql.Data.dll Verify that you have access to that directory.

Could you show us what the permissions of the directory (E:\FYM) and the file (E:\FYM\MySQL.Data.dll) are?

fyi, E: is a flashdrive, and I have been running FYM on it for a year now, with no problems until now.

Right click on either one and select properties. The security tab will show you per user or group if you can read or write the given directory or file.
Also have you tried downloading the update from the website and installing it?
Another thought is to disable your antivirus to see if it will update successfully. Then turn your antivirus back on before starting the game.
And lastly. Do you have the game installed in a location that will sync to a cloud storage service? ie Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.

I unchecked that and hit apply, but it still didn't work. (btw, everytime I go back to the folder, it is marked Read only again). I have tried dl'ing the update from the website; no difference. I don't have an antivirus running at the moment. It is installed on a flashdrive. Not sure if that will link with a cloud service or not.
fyi, I can still run FYM offline using 5.11.27, so I can run trains, just not upload/download.

I've tried every thing I can think of and I still can't get the lastest version of FYM to start, check the security properties and it's only showing Windows 8, no Win 10 listing at all in the compatibility! hectrain
