Gentlemen,
My upgrade to the latest version has become FUBAR at my own hand. I keep getting "a new version is available" upon start up. I suspect that the installer placed the new version in a incorrect folder. I'm thinking that this issue is a hang over from when I did acquired my new computer, and I did not correctly transfer all files from the old to the new.
That being said, I've tried to correct the file locations and believe that I have completely fucked it up.
So, until I can straighten it out, run through my yards.
George

OK if you got FYM on your new computer by copying files and not installing it, do this to fix it: 1. find your old installation that you had been using that has all your data in it 2. copy the server1 directory in its entirety and replace the server1 in the new installation
That should get your old data into the new installation and allow you to use the installer hassle-free from now on.
This is the same procedure that everyone needs to use if you need to move FYM from an old place to a new place.

I'm not getting anywhere with this. Stuck on the new installation screen wanting me to register as a new user. Frustration has set in, so, I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Copy over your server1 directory and it will work. That's all you have to do.

Still not able to resolve my issue. Even tried to upgrade my older FYM version from my old laptop which is now on an external hard drive. I cannot get past the new install registration. Which may be the thing to do....Start clean. I'm afraid I've crossed/mixed/overwritten my FYM files.

If FYM thinks you're a new player, the FYMOptions.zip (and presumably other files) in server1 has not been copied from your original install.
FYM uses the previous install directory if the installer has been run on a computer before, and if not, defaults to C:\FYM (I think!). If you copy an FYM installation from one computer to another, or move the directory, there is nothing to tell the installer where FYM currently is, and you need to point the installer to the relevant directory.

1. where was FYM when you were running it before? Find that server1 2. where are you installing FYM with the installer now? Find that server1 3. Replace #2 with #1
